Renae Nettle, ActivOT Eyre Peninsula, was raised in Laura, in South Australia’s mid North. She completed her studies in Occupational Therapy at the University of South Australia in 1997.
Renae was keen to return to the country after graduating and her first role was working in Port Pirie for CRS Australia as an Occupational Therapist/Rehabilitation Coordinator.
This role involved rehabilitation and return to work services. Clients were predominantly WorkCover or disabled persons trying to enter the workforce.
Services Renae provided include:
- rehabilitation counselling
- work site assessments
- Activities of Daily Living assessments
- ergonomic / injury prevention assessments.
At the end of 1998, Renae relocated to Port Lincoln whereby she worked as a Rural Generalist Occupational Therapist at Port Lincoln Health Services. This role encompassed a large variety of work including:
- inpatient and outpatient services
- equipment provision
- home modification assessments
- Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) assessments
- outreach work.
During her time at Port Lincoln Health Services Renae also undertook a variety of other roles including Rehabilitation Coordinator, ACAT Coordinator, Senior Occupational Therapist, Transition Care Package (TCP) Coordinator and Team Leader. She has developed leadership and management skills and a high level of clinical experience in working in a broad range of areas.
