We recently coined the phrase “Inspire, Relate and Educate” to sum up our approach to launching Pod Ability, the NDSP podcast.
A podcast is also a great way of creating a more accessible NDIS, in that some of the people we speak with have an experience that might resonate with you – they might help you learn something new about a specific disability or a part of the NDIS process you weren’t otherwise aware of or struggled with. It also allows us to reach more people who we can indeed Inspire, relate to or educate.
Inspiring is a word that can come with odd connotations when used broadly, but we refer our subjects as inspiring because they genuinely are – whether they live with a disability or not. Throughout our programming we speak with clients who have a unique story to tell around their own disability and experience with the NDIS, carers and support givers as well as medical professionals with their own perspective of the community and how we work together as part of the NDIS.
The process of creating these podcasts so far has created fantastic opportunities to meet new people in our community, people who we can all relate to in some way or another. Some of our guests might be more relatable to you than others, but each of them has proven to be incredibly fun and interesting to talk to – just wait ‘till you hear their stories!
The last piece of the puzzle for Pod Ability is education. We’ve found that with every conversation we’ve learnt something new or at least been given the opportunity to discuss subjects that might help you – our dear listener – learn something.
By developing each episode of Pod Ability, we aim to provide you with a resource that you can rely on. Something fun that brings our community a little closer together and that can become part of your regular listening.
You can find Pod Ability on your favourite platform:
We’d love to hear your feedback or even suggestions of who you’d like us to speak with next so if you’d like to get involved, send us an email (email@example.com) or a message via facebook or Instagram.
