Gather Community: Vanessa Celebrates Her Circle of Friends

NDSP Plan Managers recently launched a new campaign called “Gather: Our Community. Our Stories.”

Every month, we encourage our community to share their personal stories which relate back to our different content themes.

July is all about celebrating beautiful friendships. Here’s an inspiring story that we have received from one of our story submissions:

“My life living with depression is made better with the strong supportive friendships I have with my work colleagues!

I work casually as an usher at the Wollongong Entertainment Centre and we had John Farnham performing there one year. I am the biggest Farnham fan, and his music has got me through some tough and traumatic times.

My work colleagues, who happen to be my closest dearest friends, surprised me that night by organising for him to sign a tour shirt for me. They told him of my dedication to him and his music, and how I’m struggling with major depression after losing both my parents. After his show, he surprised me backstage by meeting me.

I found true happiness for a moment that night as John talked to me and hugged me as all my friends watched on and cheered!

I was so happy to be experiencing the best moment of my life with all my closest friends!”
